Over the last 10 months the QAA has been supported by an advisory board to revise the Social Policy benchmark. The consultation on the document is now open and the SPA encourages members (based in the UK) to respond.
Consultation on Subject Benchmark Statements
The new statement offers some key updates on the previous statement:
- Revised section one which gives more attention to the definition of the discipline.
- Alignment with the new cross-cutting themes set by the QAA Accessibility, EDI (including decolonisation), education for sustainable development, employability, entrepreneurship and enterprise education and generative artificial intelligence.
- Revised subject benchmarks.
- Introduction of a Masters level benchmark.
Responses should be submitted via the relevant online survey before midday on Friday 21 November. The advisory board plan to publish the final Statements in April 2026.
