Notification of nomination processes for QAA Social Policy Subject Benchmark Advisory Panel and REF 2029 Panel and Sub-Panel Membership

The SPA executive shares the below notifications for the attention of SPA members and our wider audience regarding the nomination processes for the QAA Social Policy Subject Benchmark Advisory Panel and application process for REF 2029 Panel and Sub-Panel Membership.

 

Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) – Subject Benchmarks Advisory Panel

The QAA Benchmark for Social Policy is due for renewal. The call is now open for expressions of interest to join the advisory group to inform the development of the Subject Benchmark Statement. The advisory group chair is Dr Lee Gregory, University of Nottingham, and deputy chairs are Prof. Stephen Sinclair and Dr Enrico Reuter.

Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029

Unlike previous exercises, there is no nomination process for REF 2029 panels and sub panels.  Individuals should apply directly to REF using an application form.  Details can be found at https://2029.ref.ac.uk/news/ref-2029-main-and-sub-panel-recruitment/

REF 2029 encourages suitably qualified applicants from all backgrounds to apply, including experiences beyond academia and those with an understanding of diverse research practices, outputs, impacts and engagement practice.

The closing date for applications for sub-panel chairs and deputy chairs roles is midday 6 February 2025.  The closing date for panel and sub-panel members is 28 April 2025.
