There are 3 vacancies arising on the editorial board of Journal of International and Comparative Social Policy. The editorial board is likely to meet twice a year in January (online, given the international makeup of the board) and July (hybrid online/in-person at the annual SPA conference) and members of the editorial board attend both meetings. The key role of the editorial board is to support the managing editors in defining and implementing the strategic direction of the journal, and as such, members are expected to play an active role in promoting the journal, including through encouraging high quality submissions of articles and themed section proposals. Members are also expected to review themed section proposals, and may be asked to referee articles in accordance with their expertise.
Editorial board members serve on the board for four years starting from 1st January 2024. We welcome applications from all SPA members who can demonstrate relevant expertise/experience in relation to the role. We encourage those with an expertise in any area of comparative and international social policy to apply, and applications demonstrating expertise in social policies in the Global South or international and world-regional social policy institutions are particularly welcome.
