SPA Executive Committee

There are 5 vacancies arising on the SPA Executive Committee this year.

The SPA executive committee meets quarterly and elected members are expected to attend and contribute to the ongoing activities of the committee. Executive committee members serve for a period of three years and are eligible to be nominated for a consecutive term, after which a period of three years must be lapsed before they are eligible to stand for election. Colleagues elected to the Executive committee become members of the Trustee Board of the SPA (charity no. 528347).

All future meetings of the executive will be carried out in hybrid format making it possible to join the meeting remotely. This means that we also welcome applications from our international members. Travel, subsistence and childcare expenses associated with Executive meeting attendance are also covered, as well as any child

You can find out about the different Executive portfolios through our website. Applicants need to be members of the Social Policy Association and nominated by two members of the association. Applicants must complete a nomination form, which includes a 250-300 word statement. Please provide brief details of interests, experience and what you think you can bring to the SPA executive committee, and the names of a proposer and a seconder (both of whom must also be SPA members). The statement will form the basis of a short summary on the ballot form.

The deadline for nominations is 12th June. Please send completed nomination forms to SPA Secretary, Vikki McCall, admin@social-policy.org.uk

The elections will take place through the SPA’s online platform, SPA Online, and the results will be announced at the AGM on 5th July.
