
This year’s SPA conference will held at the University of Nottingham from the 5th to the 7th of July. The conference and accommodation will be completely on the University campus in very attractive surroundings. We are now able to announce the first set of speakers for the conference. Following the developing tradition of recent years, we will have a panel discussion on the conference theme to open the conference. This year the panel speakers will be: Emma Wincup – Joseph Rowntree Foundation Joanna Mack – Editor of Journal of Poverty and Social Justice Alison Garnham – Child Poverty Action Group Prof. Nasar Meer – University of Edinburgh Gregory Thwaites – Resolution Foundation Shabna Begum – Runneymede Foundation Our first keynote plenary will be delivered on the second day: Danny Dorling, Halford Mackinder Professor of Geography, University of Oxford. The theme of the conference is a reflection on inequalities, which is a key issue at the current time, and asking ourselves what is the role for Social Policy?
